About the Author
John D. Kemp M.D. obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees from Indiana University. He pursued residency and postdoctoral research training at Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale University, respectively. He is currently a Professor of Pathology in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa and is a Staff Physician at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. His interest in history initially developed as a result of travels in childhood; his father was a career military officer who was assigned to posts in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
